Rodeo Rapid City wraps up at Black Hills Stock Show

Despite the winter conditions outside, action heated up indoors at the Black Hills Stock Show for three performances of what is dubbed “Rodeo Rapid City”.

The Black Hills Stock Show & Rodeo is the second largest event of the year in South Dakota behind the motorcycle rally in Sturgis.

The stock show actually began in late January with largest trade show and livestock competition in the region. Rodeo Rapid City ran from February 6-8 for the PRCA-sanctioned rodeo. That was basically a one-header over all the performances and slack.

A high school rodeo was also held in conjunction with the event, along with a PRCA permit section of the rodeo. The Black Hills Stock Show also had “Broncs for Breakfast” with a morning dose of ranch bronc riding.

Rapid City is a city in South Dakota that sits on the eastern slope of the Black Hills mountain range in the southwestern portion of the state.
