Top two contestants from each event advance to the semifinals after the wildcard round on Wednesday night at the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo in Dickies Arena.
Contestants that placed first and second in the go-round advance to the semifinals, except when a tie split first place. In that case, the two tied for first advance, which happened in the breakaway roping on Wednesday night.
Kinlie Brennise and Macy Young advance to the semifinals after tying for first place in breakaway. Only half of the contestants in the wildcard round caught their calf for a qualified time.
Clay Smith and Coleby Payne won first in team roping with a fast time of 3.8 seconds. They were the only team in the 3-second range. Closest to Smith and Payne were the team of Clint Summers and Paul Eaves, who placed second in the round and advance to the semifinals.
Dawson Hay partnered with Painted J to win the wildcard round of saddle bronc with an 89.5 point ride. Wyatt Casper finished in second place, so he also moves on to the semifinals.
John Douch and Glenn Jackson were a tenth of a second apart in tie-down roping. Douch placed first in the round with an 8.4 second run, while Jackson was 8.5.
Toria Madsen turns in a blistering 16.15 second run in barrel racing. Madsen advances along with Megan McLeod-Sprague.
Figuring out the placing in the bull riding was rather easy since only two bull riders covered their bulls. Lukasey Morris and Bryce Jensen advance to the semifinals.
