Pittsburgh (Unleash the Beast Tour/Team Challenge)
Professional Bull Riders this weekend presents the first rodeo-related event in Pittsburgh since the city banned rodeo in 1992.
Keyshawn Whitehorse is first place in the event standings after Round 1 in PPG Paints Arena. Whitehorse scored an 89.75-point ride aboard Eyes On Me, but his ride is not televised until Sunday afternoon on CBS. Whitehorse’s ride was uploaded to YouTube.
Whitehorse’s high point ride came during a Team Challenge section of the event, where Whitehorse and the Arizona Ridge Riders narrowly bested the Oklahoma Wildcatters by 3.5 points (final score: Ridge Riders 258-Wildcatters 254.5).
The Team Challenge sections of bull riding from Pittsburgh air Sunday at 2:30 pm ET on CBS. Check local listings for time in your area.
PBR only streamed threes sections of the long round, and none of the Team Challenge sections of bull riding. However, the rides from the Team Challenge also counted in Round 1 of the event standings.
The team portion had four mini-sections, likely to fit into the Time Challenge format into one-hour of network television for the tape delayed broadcast on Sunday.
Three-way tie for second place in Round 1 of the event standings with Jose Vitor Leme, Dawson Branton and Guilherme Valleiras covering the bulls for an 87.5-point ride.
Night two in Pittsburgh streams live on YouTube and RidePass on Pluto TV.
Grand Rapids (Velocity Tour)
Bob Mitchell sits atop the leaderboard after Round 1 at Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids, MI. Mitchell rode Maximus for 84.5. That was one of four qualified rides on night one of the Velocity Tour stop.
Cody Teel is in second place after Round 1, Cody McCandless is in third, and Marcus Mast sits in fourth place. Round 2 and a short go-round take place today when the bull riding continues in Grand Rapids.
