Stetson Wright is back! Wins go-round in Denver

Back on the rodeo trail and back on top with a go-round win, Stetson Wright makes a triumphant return to Denver. Wright scored 89 points on Cervi Brothers’ Heyoka to win Round 1 of Bracket 2 at the National Western Stock Show.

The 89 point ride by Wright is the highest score in the bull riding so far at the National Western after Friday night’s performance. Wright was the last bull riding out in the section, ending the rodeo with the equivalent of a walk off home run.

Wright missed all of the 2024 season due to injuries. Those same injuries forced him out of the National Finals Rodeo in 2023 after only a few rounds.

Wright says he is “100% back” in a video posted by the PRCA on social media. Wright went on to say there are “no excuses” for him not making qualified rides.

Wright also said he definitely plans to compete in both bull riding and saddle bronc this season. He added his goal is still to win the triple crown — meaning world titles in both events and an all-around gold buckle.
